Ridiculed as a crazy loner in the beginning days, the Wacken Open Air has developed into a real branded article amongst festivals worldwide. The TV documentary “Full Metal Village” erected a monument to the festival, and if you’ve ever seen “Metal – A Headbangers Journey”, you know which significance Wacken also has internationally by now.
