Axel Rudi Pell and his band have had to cancel this year’s German festival dates in Wacken and at “Rock of Ages” for time-related reasons. After harsh criticism by fans on the web blog, the hardrockers have now posted a statement on their homepage: "Unfortunately our singer Johnny isn’t available for the period of time of the festivals because of very important business reasons (he heads a very successful company in the US). These scheduling conflicts occured on short notice, just a few weeks ago and therefore weren’t foreseeable.“ Axel: "Of course we would’ve liked to have played, but what could I do? Sing myself? We would like to ask our fans for their understanding and apologize again. The work on our new album is going alright and will conclude at the end of June, the mix and the mastering will follow in July.” There’s some consolation for disappointed fans however: For the 20th anniversary next year, Axel Rudi Pell and Band are already firmly booked.
