Iron Maiden will rock Wacken

The world's largest Metal festival is Maiden's playground - and they'll be returning to it next year! On Thursday, August 5th, Iron Maiden will be kicking off the W:O:A with their terrific headliner show. In addition, their performance in Wacken will be the Metal legend's only gig in Germany next year.

If you experienced their first show in Wacken ever live in 2008, you know, that they even surpass themselves in this environment: frenetically celebrated by the fans, the Brits fired off one Maiden classic after the other and also offered quite a few gems, which hadn't been heard in their live set in ages. "Our performance in Wacken last year was phantastic. Once it became clear that we'd be performing at a few European festivals next summer, we thought it a splendid idea to return one more time. What could be better in Germany than to play for the 75,000 true Metalheads again who come to Wacken?", so Maiden bassist Steve Harris.

Next year, the Wacken Open Air will be celebrated from August 5th through the 7th. Tickets for all three festival days run 120 Euro plus advance sales charge and postage and are available via the homepage. A "3-day all in" ticket includes, amongst other things, free parking, free camping right next to one's vehicle, free waste disposal, a festival sticker, a complimentary CD, as well as a "Full Metal Bag" with various, top quality surprises.

Except for Iron Maiden, Edguy, Corvus Corax, Cannibal Corpse, Grave Digger, Torfrock, W.A.S.P. and Immortal have confirmed.
