Snoop Dogg banned from festival

He was supposed to perform as one of the headliners at the free and family-friendly Parkpop Festival in The Hague, but that didn't work out: Snoop Dogg was uninvited again. This uncharming action wasn't however initiated by the organizers, but police, lawyers and the city's mayor got involved in the preparations for the one-day festival and expressed their dislike concerning the performance of the world famous Gangsta rapper on June 27th. According to reports of the British NME, they banned Snoop from the billing list and requested that the Parkpop organizers find a replacement that corresponds with the open and friendly character of the free festival. Except for the rapper, acts such as Nena, Alphabeat, Nick Lowe and Juliette Lewis are part of the line-up.

The makers and shakers of the British festivals aren't as afraid: on that very weekend Snoop Dogg will be onstage as one of the main acts at the sold-out Glastonbury.
